WHAT’S A HOLISTIC PERSONAL TRAINER?

And … should you hire one?!

You’ve probably heard of holistic medicine – an alternative to western medicine where both the mind and body are addressed. But have you heard of a holistic Personal Trainer? My guess is no.

A holistic Personal Trainer is someone who places equal importance on mental, physical and emotional health.

My clients are human beings (shocker right?!) with full lives outside the gym, ranging from young mums to seniors –  and they experience emotional and mental ups and downs every day. This influences how I tailor my Personal Training sessions and means the women who work with me improve more than just their fitness and strength. My clients become empowered, their self-belief grows, their confidence skyrockets, their anxiety lessens, their negative body image fades.

Blending the physical, mental and emotional into one just makes sense – because you are so much more than your fitness!

What Does that Actually Look Like in a PT Session?

Sometimes I’ll intuitively pick up that you’re emotionally drained and just need to vent about your kids and go for a walk.

Sometimes I’ll see that you need to be challenged so I’ll push you outside your comfort zone, and you leave feeling strong and empowered.

Other times your body will be exhausted from life, so we’ll gently stretch and meditate to calm your mind.

On occasion, you’ll be overwhelmed, the tears will come, and I will simply listen without judgement.

This is holistic Personal Training. An approach that will have you feeling relaxed and uplifted, stronger and more vibrant, inside and out.

Here’s a few examples of what I help my clients achieve through holistic Personal Training:

  • Actually start to enjoy exercise
  • Improve self confidence
  • Manage mental health
  • Learn to prioritize self
  • Learn to say no to others
  • Bolster self-belief
  • Reduce sick days at work
  • Feel better in clothes
  • Feel better about body
  • Reduce back pain
  • Reduce chronic pain (like arthritis)
  • Build emotional resilience
  • Create a less stressed mind
  • Say yes to things you’ve always wanted to try
  • Improve physical strength
  • Improve fitness
  • Improve flexibility

Sometimes during PT we just jump around and eat cheesecake!

Woah, that’s a big list! Isn’t it wonderful to know just how many things a holistic Personal Trainer can help you with?!
