What does the number on the scale mean to you?
For many women, stepping on the scale can be a source of discomfort – even a downright awful experience.
What if you could change that?
Let’s begin by figuring out what the number on the scale means in reference to you as a person.
Nothing. Nothing at all.
The number on the scale doesn’t show:
- How wonderful you are
- How you treat others
- That you’re quietly hilarious
- You’re capacity for kindness and love
It also doesn’t show how healthy or fit you are. (Not that you have an obligation to be healthy & fit, btw.)
The scales cannot measure your fitness level or health status. And they certainly do not determine your worth as a person.
One way I help women let go of the emotional ties to the scale is by celebrating things about you that have nothing to do with your weight.
Maybe you just did your first push up! That’s awesome, celebrate that! Perhaps you cooked yourself a nourishing meal. Celebrate that too! Maybe you wore shorts to the beach for the first time in five years.
Girl, you pop a bottle and celebrate that shit!
The most important thing to take away from this message is –
You have value far beyond what you weigh.
